The new 2015 Chevy Cruze is equipped with a full new fresh diesel version with turbo. Although, it resembles at the exceptionally same moment, the company is furthermore acting on the next generation of Cruze model.
The car will be slightly longer than the current model, with most of the increase featuring in the rear section. This should translate to more space for rear seat passengers and additional storage in the trunk.
Production of the 2015 Cruze will continue at GM’s plant in Lordstown, Ohio, where the current model has been assembled since 2010. The car will also be built at plants in South Korea and Australia.
Chevrolet Cruze rated at 28 mpg city/42 mpg in Eco guise with the six-speed manual transmission and 27 mpg city/46 mpg highway with a six-speed automatic with its new 148-horsepower diesel engine, expect Chevrolet to try and top all of those numbers in the next generation.
No information untill now about engine choices or transmission , but with GM now working on nine- and 10-speed automatic transmissions, we wouldn’t be surprised if one of those makes it into the Cruze. A few months back after it was found that the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu began falling short of expectations, rumors flew that GM was discussing decontenting the 2015 Cruze to give the Malibu more breathing room, using cheaper materials in the process.
The way we figure it, as one of Chevrolet’s best-sellers and a leader in the compact segment–perhaps the first competitive compact Chevrolet has sold since the Japanese automakers began selling cars in volume in the U.S.–Chevrolet needs to keep the momentum going.
